In 1725 the French astronomer Guillaume Le Gentil de la Galazière was born, known for the discoveries of celestial objects that we know as Messier objects Messier32 and the Lagoon nebula Messier8, and he was the first to catalog the dark nebula also called Le Gentil 3 (in the constellation of the Swan). Here in the photo the M8 lagoon nebula indicated above and M20 (Trifid nebula) taken by Manuela Ciani with an amazing Star Trek reference, space-travel aboard Enterprise!

Nel 1725 nasce l’astronomo francese Guillaume Le Gentil de la Galazière noto per le scoperte di oggetti celesti che conosciamo come oggetti di Messier M32 e la nebulosa Laguna M8, e fu il primo a catalogare la nebulosa oscura chiamata anche Le Gentil 3 (nella costellazione del Cigno).  Qui in foto la nebulosa laguna M8 sopra indicata e M20 (nebulosa Trifida) ripresa da Manuela Ciani che ringrazio per la simpatica Star Trek composizione!

In 2009, the space shuttle Discovery brought an Italian experiment back from the ISS, i.e. 664 biological and biochemical samples that survived the radiation of space for 18 months.
