In 1968, the Soviet probe Zond 5 (see photo) was launched towards the Moon, with various animals on board (turtles, flies, mealworms), plants, seeds, bacteria and other living creatures.

Today in 2010 it was Sol 2361 of the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity (see photo) which had traveled a total of 23,234.31 meters on the surface of Mars, exceeding the halfway point traveled towards the Endeavor crater (it moved 50-110 meters per day). In that period, positive tests had been carried out with AutoNav (autonomous navigation software).

Oggi nel 2010 era il Sol 2361 del Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity (vedi foto) che aveva complessivamente percorso 23.234,31 metri sulla superficie di Marte, superando la metà strada percorsa verso il cratere Endeavour (si spostava di 50-110 metri al giorno).
