In 1854 discovery of the 33rd planet, Polyhymnia (see photo), by the French astronomer J. Hacornac (1823-1873). This was the sixth and last planetary discovered in the year 1854. It is remembered that the most prolific year was 1861 with ten discoveries of planetary planets, those marked with the numbers from 63 to 72. It was named in honor of Polyhymnia, the muse Greek religious hymns honoring gods and heroes.

Nel 1854 scoperta del 33° pianetino, Polyhymnia (vedi foto), per opera dell’astronomo francese J. Hacornac (1823-1873). Questo fu il sesto ed ultimo pianetino scoperto nell’anno 1854. Si ricorda che l’anno piú prolifico fu il 1861 con dieci scoperte di pianetini, quelli contraddistinti con i numeri dal 63 al 72. Fu battezzato così in onore di Polimnia, la musa greca degli inni religiosi in onore di dei ed eroi.

In 1974 the launch date of the Soviet lunar probe Luna 23 (see image) which landed on 9 November of the same year in the southern part of Mare Crisium but the experiments failed.
