In 1969 Apollo program: Apollo 12 astronauts Charles Conrad and Alan Bean landed in the Oceanus Procellarum (“Ocean of Storms”, see photo) and became the third and fourth human beings to walk on the Moon.

In 1972, SAS-2 (Small Astronomy Satellite 2) was launched, an artificial satellite put into orbit by NASA as part of the Explorer Program (see graphic representation). It was the first dedicated to the study of space sources of gamma rays.

Nel 1972 lancio SAS-2 (Small Astronomy Satellite 2), un satellite artificiale messo in orbita dalla NASA nell’ambito del Programma Explorer (vedi rappresentazione grafica). Fu il primo dedicato allo studio delle sorgenti spaziali di raggi gamma.

In 1999 Shenzhou 1: The People’s Republic of China launches the first Shenzhou space shuttle (see image).

Nel 1999 Shenzhou 1 : la Repubblica Popolare Cinese lancia la prima navetta spaziale Shenzhou (vedi immagine).
