In 1965, at the Hammaguira launch base in the Sahara Desert, France launched a Diamant-A rocket, with its first artificial satellite on board, the Asterix-1 (see image) and was the third nation to go into outer space with its own rocket.

Nel 1965 nella base di lancio di Hammaguira nel Deserto del Sahara, la Francia lancia un razzo Diamant-A, con a bordo il suo primo satellite artificiale, l’Asterix-1 (vedi immagine) è la terza nazione ad andare nello spazio esterno con un proprio razzo. 

In 2011, launch from the Kennedy Space Center using an Atlas V rocket of the Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) satellite with the Martian rover Curiosity on board (see image).

Nel 2011 lancio dal Kennedy Space Center mediante un razzo Atlas V del satellite Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) con a bordo il rover marziano Curiosity (vedi immagine). 

In 2018 the InSight Lander probe lands on Mars at 19.54 UTC. more precisely in the volcanic region of Elysium Planitia and provides telemetry to the two experimental Mars Cube One CubeSats; overall, the landing maneuver lasted only 6 and a half minutes from entry into the Martian atmosphere to contact with the surface. No problems were detected during this phase and after half an hour he had deployed the solar panels and started some tests.

Nel 2018 la sonda Lander InSight atterra su Marte alle ore 19.54 UTC. più precisamente nella regione vulcanica di Elysium Planitia e fornisce la telemetria ai due CubeSat sperimentali Mars Cube One; nel complesso la manovra di atterraggio, dall’entrata nell’atmosfera di Marte al contatto con la superficie è durata solo 6 minuti e mezzo. Non è stato rilevato nessun problema durante questa fase e già dopo mezz’ora aveva dispiegato i pannelli solari e iniziato alcuni test.
