In 1842 the Italian engineer Giovanni Celoria was born (see photo, at the Brera Observatory) known for his numerous and valuable writings including the memoir “Sopra altri scandagli del cielo” created at the Royal Observatory of Milan (1893), in which investigated the distribution of stars in space by conjecturing on the constitution of the Milky Way and with illustrations of observations of comets.

Nel 1842 nasce l’ingegnere italiano Giovanni Celoria (vedi foto, all’Osservatorio di Brera) noto per i suoi numerosi e pregevoli scritti tra cui la memoria “Sopra alcuni scandagli del cielo” eseguiti all’Osservatorio Reale di Milano (1893), nel quale indagò la distribuzione delle stelle nello spazio congetturando sulla costituzione della Via Lattea e con illustrazioni delle osservazioni di comete.

In 1989 Phobos 2 arrived in Martian orbit (see image), the last space probe of the Soviet Union. It was an uncrewed space mission of the Phobos program launched from the Bayqoñyr Cosmodrome on July 12, 1988, 5 days after the Phobos 1 probe. Its mission was to explore Mars and its moons Phobos and Deimos

Era una missione spaziale senza equipaggio del programma Phobos lanciata dal cosmodromo di Bayqoñyr il 12 luglio 1988, 5 giorni dopo la sonda Phobos 1.
