In 2021, NASA updated us on the developments of the Ingenuity helicopter on Mars: https://fb.watch/c80McfKa6j/. At present Ingenuity, designed to make 5 flights, made 72 but a propeller failure (see photo) led to the end of the mission in January 2024. It started in 2020 together with the Perseverance rover, and carried out its first flight on 19 April 2021 for a total of 129 minutes of flight moving 17 kilometers from its starting position in the Jezero crater. Nel 2021 la NASA ci aggiornava sugli sviluppi dell’elicottero Ingenuity su Marte: https://fb.watch/c80McfKa6j/. Allo stato attuale Ingenuity, progettato per fare 5 voli, ne ha fatti ben 72 ma un guasto alle eliche (vedi foto) ha portato alla fine della missione nel gennaio 2024. Partito nel 2020 insieme al rover Perseverance, effettuò primo volo il 19 aprile 2021 per un totale di 129 minuti di volo spostandosi di 17 chilometri dalla sua posizione di partenza nel cratere Jezero. Durante il 72esimo volo, nella fase di discesa, si è spezzata un’ala. Comunque comunica unica ancora con Perserverance ma purtroppo non potrà più volare 😦
