In 1754, the astronomer Franz Xaver Von Zach (1754-1832) was born. In 1801, with a team of 24 astronomers, the search for the disappeared planet began (in fact it had already been identified in January of the same year by Giuseppe Piazzi but its orbit had not been traced and therefore it had been lost) which had to be found between Mars and Jupiter. His efforts materialized with the rediscovery of Ceres and the identification of other asteroids. Asteroid 999 Zachia and the crater Zach on the Moon (see photo) were named in his honor.
