In 1973 the American artificial satellite Radio Astronomy Explorer B (RAE-B), also called Explorer 49, was launched, with destination Moon for research concerning radio astronomy.

Nel 1973 avviene il lancio del satellite artificiale americano Radio Astronomy Explorer B (RAE-B), chiamato anche Explorer 49, con destinazione Luna per ricerche riguardanti la radioastronomia. 

In 2003, the rocket carrying Spirit (see photo) was launched, the rover sent to Mars in search of traces of water in the planet’s past, followed by the Opportunity rover. Coincidentally today, in addition to being the beginning of the Mars Exploration Rover program, it also coincides with the end of the program in 2018 when the Opportunity rover managed to get in touch with the Earth for the last time, then falling into absolute silence.

Nel 2003 avviene lancio del razzo con a bordo Spirit (vedi foto), il rover mandato su Marte alla ricerca di tracce di acqua nel passato del pianeta, seguito dal rover Opportunity. Coincidenza vuole che oggi oltre ad esser l’inizio del programma Mars Exploration Rover coincide anche con la fine del programma nel 2018 quando il rover Opportunity riuscì a mettersi in contatto con la Terra per l’ultima volta cadendo poi nel silenzio più assoluto.
