In 1563 the Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe made the first observation of Saturn when the planet was in conjunction with Jupiter and from here he realized that even the most recent and updated astronomical tables (Erasmo Rehinold’s Tabulae Prutenicae) were out of phase by several days. From here he then began to design and collect various observation instruments; he remembers a large dial for stellar observations and a celestial globe on which he was marking the positions of the stars, again confirming the imprecision of the astronomical measurements performed up to then. Nel 1563 l’astronomo danese Tycho Brahe effettua la prima osservazione di Saturno quando il pianeta era in congiunzione con Giove e da qui si rese conto con questa che anche le più recenti e aggiornate tavole astronomiche (le Tabulae Prutenicae di Erasmo Rehinold) erano sfasate di parecchi giorni. Da qui inizia quindi a progettare e collezionare diversi strumenti di osservazione; si ricorda un grande quadrante per osservazioni stellari e un globo celeste sul quale andava segnando le posizioni delle stelle confermando ancora  l’imprecisione delle misurazioni astronomiche eseguite fino ad allora. In 1985 launch of the Suisei probe (see stamp image) to study the Halley which it approaches on March 8, 1986 (150,000 km). Initially the project envisaged an encounter with comet 21P/Giacobini-Zinner in November 1998 but the plan had to be abandoned due to lack of propellant.

In 1954 Umberto Guidoni was born (see photo) astronaut, astrophysicist, writer and former Italian politician. He participated in two NASA missions aboard the Space Shuttle. In 2001 he was the first European astronaut to visit the International Space Station.

Nel 1954 nasce Umberto Guidoni (vedi foto) astronauta, astrofisico, scrittore ed ex politico italiano. Ha partecipato a due missioni NASA a bordo dello Space Shuttle. Nel 2001 è stato il primo astronauta europeo a visitare la Stazione Spaziale Internazionale.
