In 1843 the Irish mathematician William Rowan Hamilton discovered quaternions widely used in theoretical physics (in the theory of relativity and quantum mechanics) and in more applied fields, such as 3D computer graphics and robotics (to identify the spatial position of mechanical arms at more joints).

In 2005, at 04:32 local time, the Shenzhou VI spaceship, the second Chinese space mission, successfully landed in Siziwangqi. 11 year later launch from the Chinese space base of Shenzhou for a medium duration mission in space with the two Chinese astronauts Jing Haipeng (50 years old) and Chen Dong (37 years old) who with 32 days of flight set the duration record for a mission Chinese human spaceman (Shenzou11).

Nel 2005 Alle 04:32 ora locale atterra con successo a Siziwangqi l’astronave Shenzhou VI, seconda missione spaziale cinese. 11 anni più tardi avviene il lancio dalla base spaziale cinese di Shenzhou per una missione di media durata nello spazio con i due astronauti cinesi Jing Haipeng (50 anni) e Chen Dong (37 anni) che con 32 giorni di volo, stabiliscono il record di durata per una missione spaziale umana cinese (Shenzou 11).

In 2024 the “comet of the century” C/2023 A3 will be admired, unfortunately for a short while so let’s take advantage of the latest observations (from around 7.10pm). Comet Atlas, after ‘circling’ the Sun on October 9, reached a magnitude very close to zero.

Nel 2024 la “cometa del secolo” C/2023 A3 si fa ammirare, ancora per poco purtroppo quindi approfittiamo delle ultime osservazioni (dalle ore 19:10 circa). La cometa Atlas, dopo aver ‘aggirato’ il Sole il 9 ottobre, ha raggiunto una magnitudine molto vicina allo zero.
