In 2012 Curiosity (see photo) successfully landed on the ground of Mars at 5.31 UTC in the Gale crater with the first complex maneuver performed (airbraking, parachute and rocket engines) to bring down the large rover, almost three meters long, unharmed. the largest and most massive ever shipped to an extraterrestrial planet.

Nel 2012 Curiosity (vedi foto) atterra con successo sul suolo di Marte alle 5.31 UTC nel cratere Gale con la prima complessa manovra effettuata (aerofrenata, paracadute e motori a razzo) per far scendere illeso il grande rover, di quasi tre metri di lunghezza, il più grande e massiccio mai spedito su un pianeta extraterrestre. 

In 2012 Charles Alfred Bernard Lovell died, director of the Jodrell Bank Observatory (see photo) from 1945 to 1980. Considered the father of radio astronomy, he is the inventor of the largest orientable radio telescope in the world.

In 2014 the “Rosetta” space probe (see photo), after a 10-year journey, reached comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko (see photo), the final objective of the mission.
