In 1976 Viking program: the Viking 2 probe (see photo) lands at Utopia Planitia, on Mars and takes the first close-up color photos of the planet’s surface (see photo).

In 2006, ESA’s Smart1 probe (see image) impacts on the Moon at the end of its mission. The goal of the mission: to search for water in the form of ice on the Moon and to build a three-dimensional map of the lunar surface.

Nel 2006 la sonda Smart1 dell’ESA (vedi immagine) impatta sulla Luna a fine missione. L’obiettivo della missione: ricercare l’acqua sotto forma di ghiaccio sulla Luna e costruire una mappa tridimensionale della superficie lunare.
