In 1725 the French astronomer Guillaume Le Gentil de la Galazière was born, known for the discoveries of celestial objects that we know as Messier objects Messier32 and the Lagoon nebula Messier8, and he was the first to catalog the dark nebula also called Le Gentil 3 (in the constellation of the Swan).

In 2009, the space shuttle Discovery brought an Italian experiment back from the ISS, i.e. 664 biological and biochemical samples that survived the radiation of space for 18 months.

In 2022 space traffic today with the launch of Falcon 9 v1.2 with Starlink from Cape Canaveral and twenty-third flight of New Shepard – NS-23 from West Texas Blue Origin with 36 science and research payloads on board along with tens of thousands of postcards from the Club For Future.

The first private commercial spacewalk (EVA) with the Polaris Dawn crew takes place in 2024; among the planned operations are mobility tests in the newly developed SpaceX EVA suit.
