In 1925 Robert A Millikan (see photo) announced the discovery of cosmic rays believing that they were mainly composed of gamma rays. Cosmic rays are energetic particles coming from outer space, to which the Earth and any other celestial body, as well as satellites and astronauts in space orbit, are exposed. Millikan was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1923 for his work on the determination of the electric charge of the electron and on the photoelectric effect.

Nel 1925 Robert A Millikan (vedi foto) annuncia la scoperta dei raggi cosmici ritenendo che fossero composti principalmente da raggi gamma. I raggi cosmici sono particelle energetiche provenienti dallo spazio esterno, alle quali è esposta la Terra e qualunque altro corpo celeste, nonché i satelliti e gli astronauti in orbita spaziale. Millikan fu Premio Nobel per la Fisica 1923 per i suoi lavori sulla determinazione della carica elettrica dell’elettrone e sull’effetto fotoelettrico.

In 2023, a dedicated shared multiple launch towards a sun-synchronous orbit. Among the commercial customers participating, I would like to highlight the Picosats company (where I work!). Launched at 10:49 pm PT, 6:49 pm UTC – 7.49 pm Italian time), with SpaceX’s Falcon 9 launcher for the “Transporter9” mission from the Vanderberg Space Force Base in California (USA). See the company patch created on the left, in the middle that of SpaceX and an image of the Falcon 9. Anyone wishing to know more about the background of a mission, I will shortly prepare an article in the appropriate section!
