In 1576 the Uraniborg Observatory was founded by Tycho Brahe in the center of the island of Hveen which in 1576 had been granted to him for life by the King of Denmark. Tycho worked together with his sister Sophie Brahe who helped him in the management of the observatory. We remember the discovery of the supernova known today as SN 1572, a star that increases its brightness in a violent way due to an enormous nuclear explosion caused by the accumulation of hydrogen on the surface of a white dwarf.

Nel 1576 viene fondato l’Osservatorio di Uraniborg voluto da Tycho Brahe al centro dell’isola di Hveen che nel 1576 gli era stata concessa a vita dal re di Danimarca. Tycho lavorò assieme a sua sorella Sophie Brahe che lo aiutò nella gestione dell’osservatorio. Si ricorda la scoperta della supernova oggi nota come SN 1572, una stella che aumenta la propria luminosità in modo violento dovuta ad un’enorme esplosione nucleare causata dall’accumulo di idrogeno sulla superficie di una nana bianca.
